Paris, Tenn.–Let’s not forget the reason why we observe the Memorial Day weekend: to honor those men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. In Henry County, the names of those who have lost their lives serving their country in various wars are etched on the veterans’ monument on the courthouse lawn. The Henry County Memorial Day ceremony will be held there at 8 a.m. Monday. In Obion Co., an observance will be held at 1 p.m. at Discovery Park of America. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
