Buchanan, Tenn.–The driver of an SUV was killed Friday afternoon on Hwy. 79N near Buchanan.
Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department Chief Reggie Coles said his department, Henry Co. Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and the THP were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 79N and E. Antioch Rd. near the Dollar Store around 3:45 p.m. on a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
Arriving units found the SUV on its side in the ditch, along with a white box truck from Crossroads Building Supply. The white SUV was believed to be attempting to turn onto East Antioch Road from 79 when it was struck by the truck, Coles said.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The name of the victim has not been released. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and their report will be released when it is completed.
Paris Landing Fire Dept had two trucks and 11 personnel on the scene for about two hours.
