Paris, Tenn.–The West Tennessee Players Resource–whose acronym is WTPR–will be performing a public jam session from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Eiffel Tower Park in Paris. They’re calling it “Pickin’ in the Park”.
Why do they call themselves WTPR, you ask? Because they are located in the historic radio station WTPR’s former station on Brewer Street in Paris.
The group, which is made up of numerous West Tennessee musicians, will be playing a mixture of country music, bluegrass, gospel, rock ‘n roll and local songwriters will be playing some of their tunes.
The session will be in the pavilion behind the tennis court. The group seeks donations to help less fortunate kids afford musical instruments.
WENK/WTPR is now located in its new station at 216 N. Poplar St. in Paris.
