Troy Man Arrested In Four-Wheeler Theft

Union City, Tenn.–A Troy man was charged with theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a stolen four-wheeler was found in his possession Friday.
Steven Don Wisdom, age 41, Shawtown Rd., Troy, was arrested by Union City Police. Officers went to 513 N. Third St., to speak to him regarding a prior incident and saw a male and female running away from the residence and down the alley behind the home.
Both were located on separate nearby streets a short while later and Crystal Oliver was found to have an active warrant and taken into custody for failure to appear. Wisdom was the male who was running and was checked for warrants. Wisdom and the officers went back to the Third St. residence and officers saw a green Honda rancher in the backyard.
Wisdom told officers he bought the four-wheeler from a man on Shawtown Rd. Officers contacted Obion Co. Sheriff’s deputies who confirmed the four-wheeler was the same description as one stolen and a check of the plate confirmed it to be stolen May 15 in Obion County.
Officers also found a Smith and Wesson revolver in a bag strapped to the four-wheeler and noted that Wisdom was convicted of aggravated robbery in Texas in 1999 and was therefore prohibited from owning a firearm.
