After a brief standoff with the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Carroll County over the weekend, a suspect in the Pocket’s Shell Station armed robbery in Union City was taken into custody.
Keith Milton Patterson was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force at his father’s residence in Carroll County. The arrest took place shortly after 4 p.m. after a brief standoff. The outcome was a peaceful surrender.
The Pocket’s robbery occurred April 14.
The Union City Police Department thanks the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in capturing Patterson. He is charged with aggravated robbery.
A co-defendant in this case, Stephen Josh Rogers, also of Carroll Co., was arrested May 13th, in connection
with this case.
According to our earlier reports, the clerk at Pocket’s Shell station was robbed at gunpoint by a masked individual. At the time there was only a clothing description and a vehicle description obtained from watching store video. No suspects were known.
Over the passing days, the Union City Police Department began to receive tips. The tips were
called in on the Crime Stoppers line and were given to Investigator Stan Haskins. With the help
of a Crime Stoppers Tipster, Investigator Haskins was able to gain information on two subjects that had
participated together in the robbery.
Investigator Haskins was able to identify Keith Patterson as the subject that went inside the store
robbing the clerk at gunpoint. He was also able to identify Stephen Josh Rogers as a second
subject that did not enter the store but stayed in the getaway vehicle.
