Paris Man Charged After Wallet With ID Found At Scene Of Pursuit

Paris, Tenn.–A Paris man was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and evading arrest after his wallet was found on the ground at the scene of the pursuit after the car he was driving–which was stolen–crashed and the suspect fled on foot.
Bond for Steven T. Miller, age 29, of 103 N. Highland St. was set at $6,000.
The incident began Thursday evening when Henry Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Carroll noted that the 2006 Chrysler Miller was driving did not come to a complete stop on India Road near Hwy. 79N and Carroll called dispatch to check the tags.
Dispatch showed the car stolen and Carroll tried to get Miller to stop the vehicle which prompted Miller to accelerate. Both cars ended up on Elkhorn Road where Carroll found the car had crashed. A wallet with Miller’s driver’s license was found, along with pieces of mail addressed to Miller.
Miller was arrested the next morning. The car was stolen in Calloway Co. and investigators there are taking over the car theft part of the investigation.
