Paris Painter Dies In Fall From Ladder In Downtown Paris

Paris, Tenn.–A 77-year-old Paris man who is well known around town for his painting projects died Thursday after falling from a ladder in downtown Paris.
Billy Turner was painting a building on N. Brewer St. when witnesses said it appeared he had a medical issue and collapsed to the ground. Paris Police Captain Ricky Watson told WENK/WTPR that Turner was painting from a tall ladder, approximately 20-30 feet, when the accident happened.
Turner is familiar to many in Paris due to the projects that he has undertaken–he has worked on and off for years repainting the Lee Academy for the Arts building and he has done projects at the Paris-Henry Co. Heritage Center.
Currently, Turner was helping to paint a building on N. Brewer Street that is being remodeled by Rex and Bryan Carter of Paris.
Funeral arrangements for Turner are in the charge of Ridgeway Funeral Home and will be announced later.
