More Information Released On UC Armed Robbery Suspect

Union City, Tenn.–Union City Police have released more information in its search for a suspect in an armed robbery at Pocket’s Shell station in April.
Police are still asking for the public’s help in locating Keith Patterson, who lives in Carroll County. The other suspect, Stephen Josh Rogers, also of Carroll County, already has been arrested.
According to a new press release issued Wednesday evening, on the 14th of April, at approximately 4 a.m., the clerk at Pocket’s Shell station was robbed at gunpoint by a masked individual. At the time there was only a clothing description and a vehicle description obtained from watching store video. No suspects were known.
Over the passing days, the Union City Police Department began to receive tips. The tips were
called in on the Crime Stoppers line and were given to Investigator Stan Haskins. With the help
of a Crime Stoppers Tipster, Investigator Haskins was able to gain information on two subjects that had
participated together in the robbery.
Investigator Haskins was able to identify Keith Patterson as the subject that went inside the store
robbing the clerk at gunpoint. He was also able to identify Stephen Josh Rogers as a second
subject that did not enter the store but stayed in the getaway vehicle. Both Patterson and Rogers
were found to live in Carroll County.
With the assistance of investigators from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Haskins
was able to locate Stephen Josh Rogers at his residence. Haskins was given a confession by
Rogers as to his involvement in the robbery of Pocket’s as well as a robbery that occurred in
McCracken County, Kentucky, several days after April 14th. Rogers has been charged with
Aggravated Robbery. Patterson was not located.
Haskins spoke to Patterson by phone requesting he come to the Carroll County Sheriff’s
Department to answer questions about his involvement in the robbery. Patterson at first
agreed. Patterson in a later call refused to come in due to being scared. Patterson also
refused to return his girlfriend’s vehicle, leaving her stranded at the Carroll County Sheriff’s
Department. The vehicle was recovered the next day at Patterson’s mother’s residence.
A search of Patterson’s residence in Carroll County led to the recovery of the firearm
believed to have been used in the robbery at the Union City Pocket’s as well as the robbery in
McCracken County.
Haskins has obtained warrants against Patterson for Aggravated Robbery, and Felony
Possession of a handgun by a convicted violent felon. McCracken County Investigators are also
in the process of obtaining warrants for the crimes in their state.
Currently Patterson is on the run from authorities. Inv. Haskins would like to ask anyone
who may have information as to Mr. Patterson’s location, to please contact the Union City
Police Department, 731-885-1515, Crime Stoppers 731-885-8477 or local authorities in your
