BPU To Host Free Neighborhood Energy Saver Workshops

Paris, TN – Prepare now to keep hot summer air outside where it belongs. The Board of Public Utilities (BPU) will be offering free Neighborhood Energy Savers workshops beginning in May for area neighborhoods and community groups. Through these workshops, BPU representatives present easy and accessible ways to take control of your energy and water use.
During the workshop, BPU Energy Advisor Barry Flood, will give demonstrations and answer questions related to improving the energy efficiency of your home. Attendees will leave the workshop with a game plan for getting and keeping their home in tip top shape, while saving money in the process. BPU has partnered with the Paris Lowe’s to provide the first 25 households to sign in at the workshop an energy and weatherization kit valued at over $20.
“As your public utility provider, we take seriously the role of helping customers use our services wisely,” Terry Wimberley, BPU General Manager, said. “BPU understands the desire of each customer to use less of what we sell and through these workshops, that is exactly what we are hoping to help our customers do.  BPU is making a conscious effort to be your trusted utility advisor.”
The first workshop is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:30 – 7 pm at the Inman Middle School Cafeteria. The following week, on Thursday, May 23, 2019 the second workshop will take place at the Central School Building from 5:30 – 7 pm. BPU plans on adding additional workshop to the schedule in other neighborhoods in the BPU coverage area as the summer approaches and will offer classes again this fall to help prepare for the cold winter months.
Workshops are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity to get in front of the warmer weather and learn what to do now to save yourself time and money later! No RSVP is required, but you may contact us for more information at mhart@parisbpu.org or 731-642-1322.
