Paris, Tenn.—The Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission approved a site plan revision for the convenience store that will be located on Highway 79 South across from Fuel Pro.
Owner/operator of the store will be Kalpesh Patel and the proposed building is 5,865 square feet and calls for four fuel islands in front of the building and three additional islands for diesel at the side of the building.
The site plan was approved at the December 2018 meeting, but TDOT determined the driveway should be more lined up with Dale Street across the highway, which means driveways will be moved as well as some parking.
City Community Development Director Jennifer Morris said the changes will not alter the storm system or drainage. She also said that TDOT is starting to require traffic studies be done on some site plans and this is one of them. On her recommendation, the commission approved the revision, contingent on the traffic study and TDOT approval.
Planners also approved a site plan revision for Advance Financial to be located on Memorial Drive. Morris said TDOT is requiring an island in the driveway for right in and right out only. “They didn’t change anything else, so we recommend approval,” she said. “This was a difficult lot to redevelop and this is recommended by TDOT and we historically always defer to them.”
