Union City, Tenn.–A Union City man is accused of stealing money from a St. Jude Donation jar at a local restaurant.
Stacy Lynn McEwen, age 48, was arrested a short time later by Union City Police and charged with theft.
Police responded to the Los Portales restaurant at 1720 W. Reelfoot Ave. and the manager showed them a video of McEwen stealing money from the jar, according to the police report. He then left the restaurant on a red scooter.
Police located McEwen in the parking lot of the co-op and placed him under arrest. McEwen told officers he took the money and that he had already spent it, which he said was $30.
