Strong Finish For Henry County High School Fishing Team At State Tourney

Dandridge, Tenn.–The Henry County High School Fishing Team has sure come a long way from its humble beginnings two years ago to its good finish at the High School State Tournament this weekend.
The team of Matt Bradham and Caleb Ferguson, with Captain Ross Wimberley, came in 21st out of 151 boats at the two-day tournament, which was held on Douglas Lake in Dandridge.
This is the second full year for Henry County High School to field a fishing team and Coach Kandi Ellis told WENK/WTPR that there are 14 anglers on the team, both girls and boys, and 12 competed in the tournament.
Ellis said, “We’re super, super proud of these kiddos – they have dug deep, fought hard, and fought the rain and managed to find them again today! They represented HCHS FISHING and Henry County well. Thanks to our sponsors too. It’s been a great season.”
