Dover, Tenn.–Stewart County’s K9 Stormy has a new bullet proof vest, thanks to the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9’s, Inc.
Stormy is a three-year-old Belgian Malinois who was added to the department last year. Her handler is Deputy Shane Keatts.
The Sheriff’s Office applied for and received a grant for Stormy’s vest. Plus, Stormy now has a new kennel insert in which she rides, thanks to Truckers Lighthouse which donated the insert which was refurbished by the inmates at the jail, making this a savings of over $2500 to the taxpayers.
