Mayfield, Ky.– A Graves Co. Jail inmate has been arrested for reckless homicide in the death of another inmate from a meth overdose.
Detectives with the Kentucky State Police have been investigating the death of Graves County inmate Rodney Evans. The investigation revealed Mark W. Basham, age 33 of Paducah, was an inmate at the Graves County Jail and provided methamphetamine to Evans and other inmates in his cell.
Basham had hidden the narcotics inside his body, when he was brought into the jail on April 19. Basham was arrested at 9:30 April 28, and charged with Reckless Homicide, Promoting Contraband 1st degree, and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree methamphetamine. He was lodged in the Graves County jail.
