Union City, Tenn.–Over 750 runners and walkers participated in the 7th annual Glo For A Cure 5K Run/Walk in downtown City Friday evening. The event raises money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and was organized by Laney Rogers, in honor of her daughter. Everyone at this year’s event was saddened by the sudden death of beloved UCES Music Teacher Kathleen Parker, who collapsed while participating. A separate article on Mrs. Parker’s passing is on our website and both of our Facebook pages. (Brent Hinson photo).
