Paris, Tenn.–REAL Hope Youth Center Directors Linley White and Becki White have announced their pending retirement effective July 15th. The REAL Hope Youth Center is located in the Central Services Building in Paris.
Natives of Illinois, the Whites retired to Paris after serving many years in education. The couple got involved with the R.E.A.L. Hope Program in 2012, bringing Linley’s years of service as College Dean and Business instructor, and Becki’s experience in grant writing and program development.
Their efforts to nurture and develop children have been acknowledged through local and regional awards. In 2014 the couple won the Paris-Henry County Volunteer Center’s Volunteer of the Year Award. Linley, a Rotarian since the 90’s, is a recipient of the Herman Jackson Rotarian of the Year Award.
In 2018, Linley received the prestigious Jefferson Award, an award that honors community champions who are “ordinary people doing extraordinary things without expectation of recognition.” The awards are given at both national and local levels.
Also in 2018, Becki received the Child Advocate of the year award for the Northwest Council on Children and Youth. She is also the recipient of the Quota Regional Volunteer of the Year.
