KSP Provides Update On Graves County Inmate Death

Mayfield, Ky.Preliminary autopsy results show Graves County Jail inmate Rodney L. Evans, age 50 of Mayfield, had hardening of the arteries that contributed to his death.  Toxicology results are pending from the autopsy and a final report will be rendered at a later date.   Evans had shown signs of a drug overdose while incarcerated at the Graves County Jail, along with another inmate in the same cell.  Both inmates were transported to local hospitals for treatment.  One inmate remains hospitalized.  KSP and Graves County Jail are investigating the origin of the contraband.
 
KSP Detective SGT Brett Miller is conducting the death investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.  Citizens may also report tips anonymously through the KSP app.  The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android applications and can be easily downloaded free of charge through Apple and Google Play stores.
