Fulton Student Studying In France, To Receive Second Degree There

MURRAY, Ky. — Autumn Tucker, a Murray State University junior from Fulton, Kentucky, is currently spending the spring term in Saint-Étienne studying business administration, with plans to return to France for the fall term. She is on track to earn a second degree from the French university’s Centre de Management Commercial et International.
Three students from the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business at Murray State University have been nominated to study abroad in Saint-Étienne, France, at the Emlyon Business School.
Beginning in September 2019, the following Murray State students plan to begin their studies abroad at the French university:
  • Nicole Bloomer, a junior from Webster Groves, Missouri, studying graphic communications media with a minor in marketing
  • Landon Wilhite, a junior from Newburgh, Indiana, studying logistics and supply chain management
  • Nicole Richard, a junior from Mount Vernon, Illinois, studying marketing
Murray State has been sending students to study abroad in Saint-Étienne since 2013. Emlyon Business School, known for its prestigious graduate programs, is ranked in the top 50 worldwide and was named the second-leading French business school in the Times Higher Education (THE/Emerging) employability ranking.
Murray State students attend Emlyon as exchange students, so they pay their usual tuition to Murray State and are able to use University scholarships. The program offers 300- and 400-level business courses, in English, for a single semester or for a full academic year.

Students from Emlyon also visit Murray State as exchange students. Emlyon students Ghizlane Zerradi, from Morocco, and Anaelle Vollard, from France, are currently enrolled in business courses for the spring 2019 term at Murray State.
“I will say ‘thanks’ to the Murray State international organization of students that helped me a lot to meet people, and people are so nice here,” Ghizlane said. “Murray is a really great community and you feel like you are with your family here.”
“So far, we have had 100 percent satisfaction of students with the incredible international opportunities available in the Emlyon exchange program,” said Dr. Timothy Johnston, faculty director of the study abroad program and marketing professor at Murray State. “It is an ideal longer experience abroad for students taking business and business-related majors or minors at Murray State.”
Students interested in pursuing education abroad opportunities at the Emlyon Business School are encouraged to meet with Johnston or with Steven Guns, senior education abroad advisor at
Murray State.
