Dresden, Tenn.—The Weakley County Sheriff’s Office has released more details of Tuesday night’s fatal shooting.
According to Captain Randall McGowan, Anthony Perry, age 20, was shot and killed by a juvenile when Perry broke out a window to the master bedroom of the home where the juvenile and his mother were living. According to McGowan, the juvenile’s mother was Perry’s girlfriend and they were attempting to keep Perry out of the house.
McGowan said the incident occurred shortly before midnight on Pisgah Road between Dresden and Latham. He said deputies responded to what they thought was a prowler call and while en route were informed someone had been shot.
Upon arrival, McGowan said, deputies learned the situation was a domestic incident.
McGowan said Perry was shot after he broke out the window of the bedroom that belonged to the juvenile’s mother.
Perry was pronounced dead at the scene by the investigator for the Weakley Co. Medical Examiner’s office. The victim was sent for autopsy and the case is still under investigation. The sheriff’s office is being assisted by the District Attorney’s office and the county’s juvenile office.
