Union City, Tenn.–The Union City Police Department bid a fond adieu Friday to Sgt. Tommie Lemons–otherwise known as No. 727–who retired after 41 years with the city. Sgt. Lemons began with the Union City Fire Department and then began working with the police department in 1992. At a reception Friday, Chief Perry Barfield thanked Sgt. Lemons for all his hard work and dedication to the department and the community as a whole. Sgt. Lemons was given gifts, which included a certificate of appreciation for his years with the city.
