Buchanan, Tenn.–A Buchanan barn was a total loss in a fire Thursday night.
Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were dispatched on a report of a fire at 975 Dogwood Thicket Rd. in Buchanan around 7:30 p.m.
Fire Chief Reggie Coles said arriving units found a barn fully engulfed in flames. The owner Jim Pilcher said he had parked his truck in the barn and approximately one hour later his wife heard a noise and found the barn on fire. The barn was a total loss.
Cole said the exact cause is still under investigation but appears to be accidental. Damage is estimated at $35,000.00. Paris Landing had four trucks and 14 firefighters were on the scene for two hours. Mutual aid was received from Paris Fire Department with one truck and three firefighters.
