Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office will soon be wearing a new patch on their uniform using a design created by an inmate.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said he is replacing the old patch with a new one that better represents the county in more specific areas. The new patch will include the river, a map of Stewart Co., the cannons and Bald Eagles at Fort Donelson National Military Battlefield in Dover.
Sheriff Gray knew of the artistic skills of Inmate Craig Welker and approached him with ideas for a new patch. Walker put the ideas on paper and the sheriff’s office expressed thanks to him for sharing his talents with the community.
