Seat Belt Saves Man From Severe Injury In Back Yard Rollover

Wingo, Ky.—A 19-year-old was injured when his vehicle drove across a highway, through a parking lot and overturned into the back yard of a residence in Wingo after he fell asleep.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Miles Martin of Benton, was eastbound on KY 339W when he said he fell asleep. Martin crossed US 45 South, went through the lot of a local business, dropped off an embankment and overturned into the back yard of a residence on Durango Drive.
The residents at the home heard the collision and called for assistance. Deputies Dale Mason and Snapper Seaton responded to the accident.
Martin was wearing his seatbelt and deputies said his injuries would have been more severe if he had not. The vehicle came to rest within 20 feet of the residence.
Martin was first treated at the scene by the Mayfield/Graves County EMS and was transported to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center by his family for further treatment.
