Paris, Tenn.–Meeting for its biennial convention Saturday morning, the Henry Co. Democratic Party elected new officers and executive committee members.
River Byrd was re-elected as Party Chair, with Dianne Carlisle elected Vice Chair, Mark Duncan as Treasurer and Jackie Dooley as Secretary.
The newly elected Executive Committee members are:
– District One: Betty Akers
– District Two: Jackie Dooley and Mark Duncan
– District Three: Carole Walsh and Bruce Carlisle
– District Four: LaTasha Benau and James Benau
– District Five: Deborah Odom and Bob Hehn
The purpose of the Executive Committee, consisting of two residents of each of Henry County’s five districts, is to represent each district at the monthly meetings and assist in overseeing the county party’s planning and management.
Byrd said the Henry County Democratic Party experienced a year of renewed growth in 2018 and looks forward to welcoming new members, building on recent successes, and continued revitalization. Henry County residents, regardless of political affiliation, who are interested in the Democratic Party’s ideals, principles, and values, are welcome to attend the monthly open meetings.
