Graves Co. Man Jailed On Drug, Stolen Property Charges

Graves County, Ky.—A Graves Co. man is in jail on a long list of drug and stolen property charges after a Sunday evening search of his residence.
Jason Avery, age 36, was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his residence on Wilson Creek Road near Mayfield.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Detectives Brooke Nelms and Steve Halsell received information Sunday afternoon that Avery was involved in a burglary in Calloway Co. During a search of his property, items that had been stolen from the home in Calloway Co. were recovered along with a quantity of meth and paraphernalia used in trafficking.
Nine firearms were located in the residence and according to the press release, he was also in violation of a Kentucky emergency protective order and a domestic violence order.
He was charged with trafficking, first degree, in meth; possession of controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and receiving stolen property. The Kentucky State Police and Calloway Co. Sheriff’s Office assisted.
