Both the Union City Middle School girls’ and boys’ track teams brought home the gold from the Big Kahuna.
The two Tornado squads claimed first place in the Dyersburg meet on Saturday, both winning their second competitions in as many outings this spring.
The Lady Tornadoes piled up 151 total points, far out-distancing second-place Millington (98) and five other teams.
The UCMS boys also took top honors with 101 points.
The report from the UC High School softball team was not as good as the Lady Tornadoes dropped all three of their games at the War at the Dawg Pound tourney in Milan.
A busy week awaits all Union City Middle School and High School spring sports teams as they return today from Spring Break with less than a month remaining in their respective regular seasons.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK
UCMS athletes shine brightly
The Lady Tornadoes recorded seven first-place finishes, including a new school record set in the 400 meter run by Marlee Theobald.
Allysia Davis (high jump), Erykah Dayse (discus), Ada Rogers (100 meter hurdles), Kadi Oliver (100 meters) and Kennedi Robinson (800 meter) joined Theobald in winning top honors in their respective individual events.
The 4X100 relay team of Trinity Reese, Ciera Williams, Nakyah Yarbrough and Oliver also crossed the finish line first.
For the UC boys, Hayden Moon’s first-place finish in the shot put highlighted a 101-point team effort.
Chickasaw Middle finished in second place and Crestview was third in the seven-team field.
Union City will host its own Invitational Tuesday at War Memorial Stadium.
