It's Official: Paris Firefighters Win LIFELINE Battle Of The Badges

Paris, Tenn.–Well, the Paris Firefighters will not be shaving their legs since they came out the winners of this year’s Battle of the Badges sponsored by the LIFELINE Bloodmobile.
That is the official word from LIFELINE Community Services Director Tammy Hurst this morning.
The Fire Department, Paris Police and Henry Co. Sheriff’s Departments –along with their supporters–competed last Thursday when the Bloodmobile was in Paris. At stake was that the losing departments would have to shave their legs.
It’s a local tradition, with the three departments competing to bring the most people to donate blood to the Bloodmobile, with shall we say ‘interesting’ bets at stake. Two years ago, Paris Fire Chief Michael Williams was able to smash pies in the face of Police Chief Chuck Elizondo and Sheriff Monte Belew. And for last year’s bet, Williams and Elizondo washed the sheriff’s patrol cars.
In her email to Williams, Elizondo and Belew Monday morning, Hurst said, “WOW!!! I cannot say thank you enough to each one of you for your hard work and support for the blood drive last Thursday. We saw 127 donors and drew 99 GREATLY NEEDED units!! Really wish I could get other counties and cities to get behind us like you do!!!”

So here are the results:
Henry County Sheriff’s Department      34
Paris Police Department                              19
Paris Fire Department                                  70
