Union City, Tenn.–Prior to the beginning of their spring break last week, 5th-graders at Union City Middle School participated in a Vocabulary Bee.
Teachers came up with the new engaging idea to prepare students for TNready testing that will be administered after the break.
Students were challenged with numerous types of reading and math vocabulary questions – similar to what they are likely to see in the upcoming testing.
A game show theme and backdrop were used and there were winners from each home room honored after the practice.
Among those winners were:
Mr. Houston’s Homeroom –Gracie Worrell, Gale Wallace, Dontavious Young and Angel Vazquez
Miss Arnold’s Homeroom – Kyla Cawthon, Clare Atwill, Silverio Acevedo-Trejo and Gabe Clemons
Mrs. King’s Homeroom –Josie Ross, Rylee Stone and Adolfo Pastor
Ms. Chandler’s Homeroom – Jerkyah Jones, Gloria Maya, Cooper Javellana and Felepe Lopez
Mrs. Cross’s Homeroom – Grissom Hutchison, Rexx Dugger, Cristina Hively and Latonio Fair
