South Fulton, Tenn.—After the state amended the charges against him, former South Fulton City Manager James Gray entered a best interest plea during an appearance in Obion Co. General Sessions Court Thursday morning.
The state amended the charges to two counts of attempted criminal simulation, which are misdemeanors.
Gray, age 24, was arrested in February by Union City Police, charged with two counts of felony criminal simulation after allegedly trying to pass a fake $100 bill at two businesses.
Gray appeared before Judge Jimmy Smith and he may be eligible for diversion, but that will be determined later.
Gray also is an Obion Co. Commissioner.
