The KPAC Young Artists’ Winter Workshop will present “Tom Sawyer & Co.” and “Just Like Us” at 7 p.m. Friday night, March 22.
Travel back to the 1840’s when a young boy named Tom Sawyer keeps his Aunt Polly and the entire town of St. Petersburg on edge with his mischief and adventures. This mini-musical is narrated by the character of Mark Twain as he shares the characters in his famous novel. Our young artists will set your toes to tapping and make you chuckle for sure with “Tom Sawyer & Company.”
The story of “Just Like Us” is told by an old tree, who stands neglected in a park. On one side of the park live the Greens, and on the other side of the park the Blues reside. Sadly, there is fear and hatred between the Greens and the Blues. Why? No one quite remembers, but these feelings diminish the quality of everybodys lives, including the poor tree, who is left abandoned in the middle. When a storm brings the aqua and purple Allina to the park, both the Greens and the Blues learn some eye-opening lessons about each other and about life. General seating tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. All premier seating tickets (very front and center section) are $10 with no age divisions.
