Benton Man Arrested On Drug Charges In Murray

 
 
Murray, Ky.–A Benton, Ky. man was arrested at a Murray apartment complex parking lot on a long list of drug charges, including meth trafficking and possession of cocaine.
While conducting a security check of an apartment complex, Officer Davis of the Murray Police Department observed an individual in the parking lot that he recognized as having an active warrant for his arrest. The individual was identified as Sonny Russell, 44, of Benton.
While speaking with Russell, Officer Davis learned he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  Officer Davis also detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from Russell’s vehicle.  As a result of the ensuing investigation, Russell was charged with: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1^st Degree (Methamphetamine); Possession of Marijuana; Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1^st Degree (Drug Unspecified); Possession of a Controlled Substance 1^st Degree (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance 2^nd Degree (Drug Unspecified); Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3^rd Degree (Drug Unspecified); and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
