Paris, Tenn.—The Henry County Election Commission is offering free public education classes to help everyone better understand voting and elections.
Entitled “Voting 101”, the classes will be held every Thursday evening in April from 5-6 p.m. at the Henry County 911 Building at 103 Brewer Street in downtown Paris.
The classes will address different topics: voter registration, candidates, voting equipment and election time.
County Elections Administrator DeLaina Green will be conducting the classes, which will be held April 4, 11, 18 and 25.
During the first class, on voter registration, Green also will be making sure each person who attends is registered to vote.
Over all four classes, participants will learn the requirements for candidates for public office, what type of voting equipment is used now and how they work, and how the election calendar is decided, how voting precincts are laid out and other information.
For more information, you can call Green at 731 642 0411.
