Dover, Tenn.–Dr. Nancy Dawson, African American Historian, lecturer, quilt maker, and creator of the Russellville Urban Garden Project, will lead a discussion Friday, speaking about the symbolism and meaning of a hand-stitched quilt made by community volunteers.
Her talk is sponsored by the Fort Donelson National Battlefield and the Stewart County Public Library.
The discussion will share what today society can learn from the meaning of design, and of the past traditions of quilt making. Also featured will be examples from the book “Quilts and Human Rights”.
