Paris, Tenn.-It was a very long day for the Henry County Grand Jury Monday, which issued 51 indictments after an hours-long deliberation. The grand jury began meeting at 10 a.m. and did not conclude until 6 p.m. Monday night.
The 51 indictments included a myriad of offenses, including threatening a local judge, assault with a dump truck during an altercation, several cases of aggravated child neglect, destruction of jail property with a hammer and screw driver, attempt to commit aggravated robbery at Domino’s, smuggling drugs into the jail, sexual battery of a minor, and more.
–John Barrett of Paris was indicted on charges of retaliation for past acts and harassment involving threats made against General Sessions Judge Vicki Snyder. Barrett was charged with unlawfully or intentionally threatening by phone or writing or electronic communications to take actions known to be unlawful against Judge Snyder thereby committing harassment; and unlawfully, knowingly and feloniously threatening to harm Judge Snyder by any unlawful act in retaliation for anything she did in an official capacity.
–James Richard Fail, charged with aggravated cruelty, aggravated animal cruelty, failure to appear, evading, speeding, improper passing, violations the rules of riding a motorcycle, DUI, tampering with evidence and possession of meth with intent to sell.
–Robert Hawkins, aggravated assault and vandalism stemming from an incident at a Paris area repair shop. He is accused of assault by backing a dump truck into a Jeep after becoming upset and reportedly injuring someone at the scene.
Zachery Jones, criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery of Domino’s by use of a handgun.
–Destiny Henry, vandalism for destruction of property at the jail, making a hole in the visitation window with a hammer and screw driver.
–Jack Anthony Herron, vandalism for kicking in the door of a home on Manley St. in Paris.
–Brittany Jackson, aggravated child neglect for exposing a child eight years old or less with cocaine. The child tested positive with the hair follicle test.
–Melanie Johnson, aggravated assault and domestic assault involving attempted strangulation.
–Dustin Norwood, theft, criminal conspiracy to deliver meth and possession of drugs in a penal institution by acting with another to deliver meth in a bottle of lotion when he was in custody and to deliver marijuana to the jail.
Stephanie Parris, aggravated child neglect involving exposure of a one year old child who tested positive for meth in a hair follicle test.
Michael Blake Terry, aggravated sexual battery of a child less than 13.
Timothy Vandrew, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment involving a shotgun.
–Marcus Quincy Brown, two counts of violation of sex offender registry, driving with restrictions, violating of community supervision, driving on revoked license.
–Terrell Cowan, violating the sex offender registry and evading.
–Nathaniel Caddell, debit card fraud, evading, possession of meth.
–Cynthia Hansen, DUI, speeding, no insurance, open container, expired license, exercising due care.
As always, many of the indictments involve DUI, drug and theft offenses.
