Mahan Chosen As Car Dealer Of Year; Donates Check To Plus Endowment

Paris, Tenn.–Selected as the 2019 franchised New Car Dealer of the Year for Tennessee by TIME Magazine, Joe Mahan was awarded a $1000 donation which he could give to the local charity of his choice. Mahan chose Plus Endowment in honor of his wife, Diane, a retired Paris Special Schools District teacher.
At a special presentation Thursday morning, Mahan presented the $1,000 check to Steve Blount, representing the Plus Endowment board. The check was made possible by Ally Financial. Also on hand for the presentation with Mahan and Blount was Mahan’s wife, Diane.
After the presentation, representatives of Plus Endowment and the Mahan’s went to Inman School to view the Inman greenhouse project, one of the projects at that school that have been financed through Plus Endowment.
Plus Endowment was created in 1999 to provide funding of special educational opportunities that are above and beyond the regular curriculum in both the Henry County Schools and Paris Special School Districts.
Using the funds granted to them by Plus Endowment, educators each year come up with innovative and creative ways to stimulate students through enhanced learning experiences both inside and outside the classrooms.
