UC Schools To Partner With Dynamix

By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications Director
Union City, Tenn.–Athletes at Union City Schools have a new teammate.
UCHS Principal/Athletic Director Jacob Cross signed an agreement today with Dynamix Physical Therapy and Fitness to provide sports medicine and rehabilitation services to Tornado student-athletes in all sports.
Dynamix recently (Jan. 2) opened a state of the art physical therapy facility and health club in Union City, joining similar services offered in seven other cities in West Tennessee, including Greenfield, McKenzie, Trenton, Humboldt, Milan, Brownsville and Millington.  The company’s corporate office is located in Milan, originating there in 2009.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Dynamix as our sports medicine provider,” Cross said. “It means a great deal to our coaches and parents to have people you can trust caring for our injured athletes.
“We obviously want to get players back in the game as soon as possible, but our first priority is making sure they are ready to return safely. The physical therapy and expertise that is available to us through Dynamix will help our players return the right way.”
Co-CEOs Russ Huffstetler and Heath Ladd were equally enthusiastic in adding the Purple and Gold to their ever-growing list of schools serviced.
“Upon opening our facility here, getting Union City Schools on board was our top priority,” Huffstetler said. “We’re locally owned, are community-oriented, and will be on-call 24 hours a day to provide the best sports medicine available.
“Of course, most people will see the on-field and on-court services we provide. On the back end of things, though, our rehabilitation programs, physical therapy and efforts will be tireless and designed to getting athletes back to their best condition.”
Dynamix will have Matt Washburn, PT and clinic director on the sideline of Golden Tornado football games along with Jennifer Davis Cooley, PTA, ATC.  Cooley has previously served in that capacity as a member of AOSM (Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine).
Ladd added that his group also hoped to provide some workshops in the health science industry to UCHS students in addition to its athletic training services.
“We want to be active in places other than just the sidelines,” he said.
Dymamix will replace AOSM as sports medicine provider for UC Schools, beginning Mar. 8. AOSM, which drew kind words from Cross for its association with Tornado athletics for several years, will no longer offer physical therapy services after Mar. 8.
Chris Glover will continue in his current duties until the end of the current school year.
