Henry Man Arrested On Numerous Charges After Crashes

Paris, Tenn.—A Henry man was arrested on several charges including leaving the scene of an accident, DUI and possession of crack cocaine following an incident Sunday.
Donnie Hutcherson Jr., age 32, of 245 Railroad Ave., Henry, was arrested by Paris Police after they responded to a call about a telephone pole being struck in the area of Curtis Street. Sgt. Jamie James spotted a vehicle with smoke coming from it driving away from the scene and then saw the telephone pole and power lines hanging down.
James pursued the vehicle onto Lois Street at which point the vehicle crashed into a carport on Curtis Street.
Officers conducted a search of Hutcherson’s vehicle, finding a baggie containing 4.2 grams of crack cocaine, as well as $565, and officers could smell the odor of alcohol. According to the report, Hutcherson said he could not perform a field sobriety test because he was too drunk.
Hutcherson is being held on $5,000 bond.
