Saving Taxpayer's Money One Stitch At A Time In Stewart Co.

Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office is saving taxpayer money–one stitch at a time.
The sheriff’s office purchased a sewing machine last month for approximately $350. In the last 30 days, Correctional Officers Sandi Webster and Carol Bryant, using inmates and staff, have repaired over 80 inmate uniforms instead of buying new ones.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said that amounts to savings of $350 in February alone. He said Officers Webster and Bryant are to be commended for a job well done.
