Union City, Tenn.—A Union City driver was cited and he was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning.
Clayton Roberson, age 39, was cited for failure to yield, lack of insurance and driving on a revoked license after the accident.
Union City Police were called to the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and N. Taylor Street and found Roberson’s white Ford Explorer on its side in the roadway.
According to the report, Roberson was eastbound and said he did not notice he had a stop sign and drove into the path of another vehicle going northbound.
Terry Pearson, age 64, of Union City, was the other driver and collided his pickup truck into the side of Roberson’s vehicle.
Roberson was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital by the local EMS. The report notes that when the tickets were being issued, Roberson was still at the hospital ER and there was a possibility he would be admitted, so he was issued a citation instead of being arrested.
