Union City, Tenn.—A milestone in the history of WENK in Union City is one step closer to being realized today, as tower work begins to add an FM signal for the station.
Jared Mims, Executive Vice President of Operations for Forever Communications, said WENK will be off the air for a couple hours today while work is being done. If all goes well, WENK should have both an FM and AM signal by early next week.
Up until now, there has only been an AM signal at the WENK station in Union City. WENK is broadcast now at 1240AM.
The WTPR station in Paris broadcasts both AM and FM—at 710 AM and 101.7 FM.
WTPR’s broadcast will not be interrupted.
Mims said once the FM signal is added at WENK, it will broadcast the same programming, same music on both the FM and AM signals.
