Huntingdon, Tenn.–A Huntingdon physician is facing charges of possession of meth and domestic assault in Carroll County. A week ago, he was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in Paris.
Dr. Toby Hampton, age 41, has been charged with possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine and domestic assault.
According to a warrant at the Carroll County General Sessions Court, Hampton was arrested by Officer Labe Ezell.
In the warrant, Officer Ezell indicated Hampton was involved in a physical altercation with Kathy Epperson, also of Huntingdon. During the altercation, Hampton reportedly punched her in the back of her head.
Officer Ezell also reported in the warrant that Hampton was an occupant in a white Dodge Durango. During a search of the vehicle, a small baggie with a crystal-like substance was tucked into a cigarette pack in the passenger-side floorboard. The substance reportedly field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Dr. Hampton had been the owner of the Tri-County Family Medicine clinics in Huntingdon, Paris, Camden and other locations.
