Bowling Green, KY – Forever Communications, Inc. today announced an agreement to purchase six radio stations in Paris and McKenzie, from Benton Weatherford Broadcasting Inc. of Tennessee and WHDM Broadcasting, Inc. The transaction includes “Today’s Best Country 104.7” (WMUF-FM), “The Lake 94.1” (WLZK-FM), “Oldies Radio 104.5 and 1000 AM” (WRQR-AM-FM), and “Good Time Rock and Roll Oldies”, 98.9 and 1440 AM (WHDM AM-FM).
The transaction is subject to the Federal Communications Commission approval which is anticipated later this year. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The acquisition provides Forever Communications with a growing position in the Paris, Tennessee market while strengthening the Company’s existing portfolio in the Northwest TN / Southwest KY region which includes Bowling Green, Glasgow (WBVR-FM, WUHU-FM, WLYE-FM, WBGN AM/FM and Murray KY (WFGS-FM, WNBS-AM, WBZB AM/FM, Jackson, Milan and Dyersburg TN (WOGY-FM, WHHG-FM, WYJJ-FM, WLLI-AM/FM).
Forever Communications also owns WTPR-AM/FM, WENK-AM AND WWKF-FM/WAKQ-FM in Union City and Paris.
