Union City Couple Charged With Aggravated Child Abuse, Meth Manufacture

Obion County, Tenn.—Following a multi-agency investigation, a husband and wife have been arrested on numerous charges including manufacture of meth and aggravated child abuse in Obion County.
Christopher Brady, age 37, and Betty Brady, age 36, of Union City, were arrested after a joint investigation by the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, 27th Judicial District Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the Union City Police and Department of Children’s Services.
According to a press release from the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests stem from an investigation of a complaint of dangerous drugs with children present at their home in the 2700 block of East Reelfoot Ave.
 
During the investigation, several one-pot methamphetamine labs, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and several ingredients to promote and initiate methamphetamine were recovered from the scene. The children were taken to the hospital, treated, and placed into temporary custody with family members. Per State law, the residence was placed under quarantine.
 
Christopher Brady was charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, initiation of methamphetamine manufacture process, promotion of panufacture methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule 2, and two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect of children under 6 years of age.
Betty Brady was arrested for tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule 2, and two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect under 6 years of age.
