Murray, Ky.—After two women were found dead in a residential neighborhood in Murray Thursday night, a Murray man was taken into custody and is charged with two counts of murder, one count of first-degree burglary, tampering with physical evidence and animal cruelty.
Arrested was Shannon Scott, age 51, of Murray.
According to a press release issued Friday morning, Murray Police received a 911 call from a residence on Catalina Drive in Murray at 9:47 p.m.
The caller told police they had returned home and found a possibly deceased female in their garage. Officers found a female deceased in the door area of the garage. Upon further investigation, they discovered she possibly lived next door.
Officers then went to her residence, where they located a second deceased female inside. Officers proceeded to check the rest of the residence for any more victims or suspects. Officers encountered the suspect in the bathroom and took him into custody without evidence.
Investigation is still ongoing and the two victims will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for autopsies.
