Paris, Tenn.—At Thursday night’s Paris City Commission, Finance Director Traci Shannon reported the city issued 13 business licenses in December.
New business: Perkins Transport, The Pie Lady Café
New owner: Escape Salon & Spa, Soho Nail Spa, Holiday Hotel LLC dba Super 8
New location: Roaming Beet Box
Renewal of minimal activity: Shotokan Karate Fitness, Jacran Medical Spa, Elizabeth McCutcheon, Paris Yoga, Clean Queens, 1211 Frames, Rags to Riches
She also reported retail sales tax revenue is still running behind compared to last year. The month of November had a decrease of 1.55% and it was down fiscal year to date 1.41%. Even though they are down compared to last year’s extraordinarily good year, they are up from FY2016 and FY2017.
General Fund revenues caught up considerably in December with December the largest month so far for property tax collections.
