Fugitive From Justice Caught By Weakley Co. Deputies

Dresden, Tenn.—Weakley County Sheriff’s Deputies caught a wanted man out of South Carolina Tuesday morning after a lengthy chase in wooded areas near Dresden.
The suspect, Nathaniel Isiah Roberts, age 20, was wanted for attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The 911 Dispatch in Weakley Co. received a call at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday reporting that a man possibly wanted out of South Carolina was walking toward Dresden on State Highway 54, coming from the area around Lower Sharon Road.
At 9:09 a.m., Roberts, who was wearing red pants and a black top, was seen by Weakley Co. deputies and Dresden Police. Roberts ran into the woods near Snake Hill Road in Dresden and officers looked for him in the woods until he was seen by a civilian near Macedonia Church Road and Hwy. 89.
When deputies arrived and again spotted him, Roberts again ran back into the woods and was caught a few minutes later by deputies just off Sharon Hwy. 89.
Roberts is wanted by the Orangeburg, South Carolina Sheriff’s Office following an incident last week in which he and three others broke into a house and fired shots at the four people inside. A 15-year-old was injured in the incident. The other three suspects were apprehended.
Weakley Co. authorities have charged Roberts with being a fugitive from justice and he will be extradited back to South Carolina.
