Patients in West Tennessee hospitals have been using type 0 negative more than usual and the supply of this type is dangerously low. As many of you know, O negative is extremely unique because it can be given to anyone, regardless of their blood type, in an emergency situation. However, when the patient in need of blood is an O negative, they may only receive O negative. Also, O negative blood is often transfused to newborn babies in need of transfusions.
IF THERE IS ANY WAY POSSIBLE, PLEASE GIVE BLOOD THIS WEEK when LIFELINE Bloodmobiles are in your area:
Tuesday, February 5 and Wed. Feb. 6- UT Martin at Boling University Center, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesday, February 5- Gibson Co. Courthouse, Trenton, 12-5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, February 6 TVEC, Savannah, 12-6 p.m.
