Union City, Tenn.—A Union City woman was arrested this week for employee theft from a local business.
Union City Police arrested Justice Johnson, age 18, Tuesday after officers said she admitted to the thefts.
Officers were called to Goody’s retail store at 1700 W. Reelfoot Ave. and spoke with the store manager and the chain’s area asset protection manager who said that between December 3 and January 29, Johnson had either concealed cash from the register drawer as she checked out customers or concealed clothes on her person or Goody’s bags and walked out with the items.
According to the police report, Johnson was read her Miranda Rights and agreed to speak with officers. Officers said she admitted to the thefts, which amounted to some $3,500.
