
McKenzie, Tenn.–The names of the three victims of Tuesday’s fatal fire in Carroll County have been released with the notification of next of kin.
They are identified as Caitlin Cook, Dakota Cook and Ashley Barlow.
Barlow was a 2018 graduate of West Carroll High School and a student at Bethel University. She also played softball at West Carroll.
Dakota Cook was Barlow’s boyfriend and Caitlin Cook was Dakota’s sister.
The fire occurred around 5 a.m. Tuesday on New Zion Road, which is located between McKenzie and Trezevant.
According to McKenzie Banner Publisher Joel Washburn, Ashley Barlow had twice fought a diagnosis of cancer and won. She was rearing a young daughter, who was with other family members at the time of the fire.
The mobile home was completely destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Carroll County Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s office.
