Dresden, Tenn.—A Union County man was indicted by the Weakley County Grand Jury, charged with financially exploiting an elderly woman for over $100,000.
Jerry Glenn Ward, age 57, was arrested Wednesday by Weakley Co. deputies. The two-count indictment accuses Ward of exploiting the late Ruby C. Smith of Martin.
After a complaint by the late woman’s family, the investigation was conducted by the District Attorney’s Office and the TBI with assistance from the Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Office.
Ward turned himself in to authorities and was released from the Jail on bond of $7,500.
